What a great day we had here at Secrets. This was adults only and it happened to be St. Patrick's Day. Lots of choices of places to lay out, swim, snorkel, and just relax! We had green beer, Patrick's punch, Bob Marley's, and Purple Rains! Nice strong drinks and great service! We loved how pretty the water was here and never once were bothered by anyone selling anything. Very worth it. Read Less

We booked with Ricardo because of his perfect rating on Trip Advisor. $780 for 90 of us - pre tip. We booked an outing to Blue Hole with Rafting and lunch. We were an hour late off the ship because of delays and had to cancel the rafting - and did not receive a refund. Because it was New Years Eve the traffic on the island was horrible. I suspected this from the beginning and told our guide we needed to be back at the ship by 3 pm - thinking we would be lucky to get back by 4pm. Obviously the "no problem" reply I received didn't take into account the fact that I was serious. And of course we made it back to the ship at 4:28 - 2 minutes before the "all aboard". We for some reason stopped at the guides favorite "patties" shop in Ocho Rios to get food at our own expense which we did not request to do. Blue Hole was amazing. Look it up on YOU TUBE and see what all is there. We spent another $80 on guides that helped us through the jumps and falls. I hate heights, but still did most of the jumps. The roads are poor in this area. There are lots of people selling pot brownies (big signs you cant miss them) and our guide had a baggie of pot stuck behind the wiper of our van at some point during the day. We passed on all opportunities for pot. Ricardo insisted on stopping at Scotchies to get our chicken to go. It took 20 minutes to get the chicken. We hit major traffic in Ocho Rios. We hurried on board, only to wait until almost 6 pm to depart because several other tours were stuck in traffic too. Sat on our balcony watching the sun set over Montego Bay. This was our first trip back to Jamaica in 23 years. It seemed much cleaner and safer than before. Read Less

Approximately 6 1/2 hours. Bus to Margarittaville where you swim, eat and relax for approximately 3 hours. Lunch is included. Free Wi-Fi. Then on to Rick's Cafe where you watch the locals cliff dive into the water or you can participate. It is long jump and one of our group bruised their tale bone. Wouldn't recommend doing if you are not an experienced diver/swimmer. Lots of fun to watch. A short stop in Negrill to shop and then back to port. Bus was very modern and had good air conditioning. One of the best excursions we have ever done. Scenery was fabulous Read Less

You can take bottles of water on all excursions as long as the water bottle is sealed. Get the water bottle package on the ship or you can get water at each excursion but it isnt cheap. Jamaica we did Dunns Rivers Falls that I booked thru a travel agency. Great excursion: we rode to the falls which is about an hour from the ship and we all 3 hiked the falls. You will need a swimsuit and good shoes. We all had Teva's I also had purchased a waterproof case for my iphone so was able to take pictures with my phone. If you are not somewhat active or fit you can go up the falls by stairs that are next to the falls but know IF you hike up the falls you will be soaked from head to toe. Plan accordingly. Our driver took us to shop and grab a quick bite before returning to the ship. You will need cash for food and tips Read Less

Best excursion ever. EVER! A short cab ride from the Montego Bay cruise terminal, a brief lesson on a private beach then paddling away! It was wonderful! Right next to Doctors Cave so there's plenty of people watching, but your beach is private so is completely serene as well. Instructor was very patient and explained everything quit well - we were up and paddling in just minutes! We would paddle for a bit, then just sit in the water and relax, then paddle a bit more..perfection! Read Less

This was a great excursion but would be much better done out of Ocho Rios. The ride from Montego Bay is very long, but we enjoyed swimming with the Dolphins and the climbing the falls was a lot of fun and refreshing. They are beautiful!

From our view on the ship, the port was disgusting, dirty, and dangerous. We pulled up along the shipping container dock and passengers had to file through an old warehouse to get to the shuttle buses that took them into Montego Bay. At either end of the dock were stacked big steel shipping containers to keep guests from wandering out into the yard and getting run over by a truck. We chose to stay onboard and get a couples message and enjoy the ship without the crowds. In the ships daily newsletter, the Explorer, there was an important notice about the availability of drugs in Jamaica. They warn of the consequences of illegal drug purchases and the ramifications of getting caught with drugs in Jamaica. Most of our fellow guests said that they had a great time on their excursions, while others felt that they had just wasted their money. Read Less

Our last port was supposed to be St. Martin, but that port was closed by the Coast Guard, thanks to hurricane Otto. Captain Demetris Kafetzis arranged to dock us in Montego Bay, Jamaica, reportedly the only sunny spot in the Caribbean at that time. He went beyond his duties, here, since he could have much more easily substituted a sea day. We opted to enjoy our view of beautiful Jamaica from the ship that day. It was a nice peaceful, warm and wonderful day near the uncrowded pool. Read Less

We rocked at a commercial port where cargo (mostly containers) were unloaded. There was NOTHING available to a passenger to enjoy without paying for an excursion. I often prefer to wander and explore near to the ship by walking.
