Fantastic Value

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Marella Discovery 2

Just returned from a 7 day cruise on the Marella Discovery 2. It was without doubt the best value we've had to date. The entertainment staff were close and personal throughout, with the daily shows all having a different theme which was very enjoyable, as the ship is of a medium size, there was no need to book to visit places on board and we very very rarely queued for anything. The food was ...

Fabulous 50th Birthday treat and surprise engagement

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Marella Discovery 2

My partner and I chose Marella Discovery 2 as I had previously been on a smaller cruise (formerly with Thomson) and as it was his first cruise. Also we wanted to do something special/memorable for my 50th birthday. The price was reasonable, and we split 2 cruises over 2 weeks which made the choice of locations more interesting. We also wanted to see different places rather than just spend 14 ...

Fabulous ship and cruise

Review for a Asia Cruise on Viking Orion

The exotic itinerary was what attracted us to thus cruise and we were not disappointed by either. Having sailed on many cruise lines in the past, have to say Viking ocean ships surpassed them all. The ship is new, sleek, and sophisticated with beautiful soothing interiors. Veranda cabin was roomy and had more than adequate storage space. From the included excursions to the wine and beer ...

This is our third cruise with Marella/Thomson. We haven’t cruised with another line so cannot compare the experience in that way. However, having previously sailed on Celebration and Majesty it has to be said that Marella have really upped their game with the newer ships. We picked Premium Club flights which I would highly recommend for a 10 hour flight, service in flight was lovely and very ...

Marella exceeded our expectations

We're Canadians. This cruise far exceeded our expectations. With so many negative reviews we wondered what we were getting into. It was an all inclusive cruise with Marella through Sunwing Vacations. We chose it because it was all inclusive including drinks, food and all tips. We didn't see anyone do extra tipping. We did upgrade to the premium beverage package and loved having the extra ...

Just wanted to let fellow cruisers know of an amazing place near Amber Cove where you can volunteer to spend either half or full day at Dove Missions. Check out their website and trip adviser. We had such a worthwhile morning spent meeting children from one of the poorest areas around tbe barrio. At the school we played games, crafts and helped them with learning English. Martina and the staff ...

Marella gets the thumbs up from me.

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. Wanting to go to Havana and see the Panama Canal. We have cruised with Thomson before on the Destiny, but having enjoyed balcony cabins with other cruise lines, we hadn't returned to Thomson until they acquired their new ships. We flew from Manchester to Montego Bay, no delays, and were promptly through immigration and onto the coach to the ship. On ...

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Marella Discovery 2

This was our first cruise on a European based cruise line as opposed to North American. We were attracted to the all inclusive and air travel options as well as the opportunity to visit Havana which was cut short by Cuban Harbour authorites due to lack of dock space which increased our stay in Cozumel. After our arrival in Montego Bay which was a bit of a nightmare and confusion clearing ...

Just had two weeks aboard marella discovery 2 and could not fault it. our balcony cabin was always meticulously maintained by Anna our cabin steward. The ship has been refurbished to a high standard, although on the balcony there is evidence of all the players of paint. Staff as always were friendly, with a real smile nothing was too much trouble for them. chose this cruise because of the ...

Just returned home after a 14 day holiday sailing around the caribbean on the Discovery 2. This was our first experience of cruising and I can honestly say we are hooked. My husband and I had a fantastic time and could not fault anything. We had an inside cabin which was small but as you only sleep in it this was fine and our cabin girl was very friendly and ensure everything was perfect for us. ...
