Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

No selection for Antolya: Antolya (Pergumum) is a large Turkish bustling city well situated to take care of the tourist. The ship docked at the new port (but only just -- the berth was about 2 feet longer that the vessel) and we were bussed to the old port. From there we took a harbour cruise and looked around the town. But after the umpteenth Turkish rug shop, coat shop or tout selling shirts ...

Last time I was in Zihuatanejo was in 2005 on the same 10 day cruise. This place changed a lot and is hardly recognizable. This used to be a sleepy village with great stores, prices, few bars and lots of little beautiful scenery. Well the stores are more expensive to the point where it's ridiculous and they stopped bargaining. Every few feet we were offered a beer for a dollar and all the natural ...

This small fishing town is very rustic mexican. Take a taxi to "Playa La Ropa" or a water taxi ride to "Playa las Gatas" for a fun filled day of beach and sun. They both offer food, drinks, and placed to sit under palapas (for a small fee), and the views of the ship from here are beautiful! Its a tender stop, but its not a long ride to the port. ...

This was a great stop. The shopping was fun without too much pushing but best of all was this great place with tables on the beach. We pulled up a couple of chairs with a calming view of the ocean and sat under big umbrellas nearly the whole day, chatting and eating local fare and of course enjoying a few of our favorite beverages. It was always a secret little dream of mine, to be able to sit on ...

favorite of all - tendered in- hired the best taxi by the name of Carlos garcia garcia (yes 2 last names)- he took us to all of the sites, even bought a chicken to feed to the alligators- only had 6 hours off the boat- waited in line 45 minutes to catch inbound tender. ...

We took a taxi to Playa La Ropa ($4) in Zihuatanejo and had an enjoyable day at the beach. We payed $10 for two premium lounge chairs at a beachfront bar. We didn't find the free lounge chairs I saw in other reports. We were satisfied with our experience and the service that was forthcoming from the bar/restaurant. I don't know the name of the place but they had blue pads on the lounges and tan ...

We chose not to take an excursion in this port. We were tendered ashore, but on a much shorter ride than in Cabo San Lucas in more sheltered waters. We stayed in Zihuatanejo and walked around the village. There was actually a good number of boutiques and a large variety of pottery. In the end, we found a pottery mask with hand-made glass-beaded lizards. Quite unique and very pretty. ...
