Even though we didn't actually get off the ship to visit this port I could tell that if you are a beach lover you would really enjoy this beautiful tropical place! It had every water sport imaginable including para sailing . I could see everyone having a really great time!!

According to the ship's port information sheet the taxi to La Ropa was supposed to be $4 per carload, so I asked the taxi driver “four dollars?” and he said yes so we all got in. Upon arrival he wanted $10. I was not impressed, I was mad. Especially when we got to the beach and we could have almost swam directly across from where the ship tenders to the beach. We should have just taken a water ...
Ixtapa/ZIhuanejo - took a ferry to Las Gatos beach, it is like $5.00 per person, (round trip) you can get this right at the end of the pier. Very nice beach, we ate at albertos and you could scuba right from the beach. Husband and teens enjoyed this very much.Lunch for 5 of us was $86, a bit pricey but we had drinks and wanted an authentic mexican meal. We had 3 orders of quesadillas, three orders ...
We had no plans for this port, and instead rode the tender to the terminal and walked through the area near the beach, where there were several interesting shops and restaurants. We spent the afternoon shopping and eating in one of the outdoor cafes, and had a wonderful time with a lady from the ship who was traveling alone and joined us for lunch.

ZIHUATANEJO : Our plan was to rent a scooter, but the place was still not open until after 10:00 am. By then we had walked all over the places and decided not to rent the scooter, as the ship sailing time was earlier than any other ports.

I really like this port of call and chose a return trip to Isla Ixtapa. I haven't been there is over 20 years, so saw a lot of changes to this most beautiful island. There were not enough beach chairs for the number of guests on the tour...but we ended up walking over to the other side of the island and found a spot that was little treasure over there. There were some hammocks we were allowed to ...
We planned a day at La Playa Las Gatas because I read that there was a reef to snorkel there. First, we wanted to shop in Zihuatanjo. All the normal boardwalk shops were there with their 3/$10 t-shirts (that shrink 3 sizes in the first wash) by the dock but the beautiful street shops of Zihuatanjo don't open until 10 or 11AM. It was early so we took a water taxi over to Las Gatas. The droves of ...
Did not make it over to Ixtapa but had a great time strolling through Zihuatenjo shopping, checking out local food and beverage choices. Felt absolutely safe. The ship sailed as the sun was setting which made for great pictures and good time to have dinner out at the fan-tail pool.

We got off the ship for a very short time at this port. Short tender ~ 8-9 minutes and the pier is the guarded heavily with security. Lots of shops when you get to the pier, restaurants. But we stayed close by and went back to the ship early.

Went on Carnival's Ixtapa Island getaway. This excursion is nice it will take you to a great island where only a moderate number of vendors will harass you. The food is good but be careful what you order as the servers creatively price things in pesos and have multiple menu options of the same thing. My wife and I got our tab fix after complaining that they charged us for something we didn't ...
