Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sea

We have taken several Viking Riverboat Cruises. Our friends wanted to try a Viking Ocean Cruise but the size of the ship put us off a bit. We very much like the intimate feeling the River Cruises offer. The Ocean Cruise would have a long way to go to come close to a Riverr Cruise. Our friends convinced us to travel with them. We are so glad that we did. In most ports the ship was still ...

We wanted to see all that istanbul offered ,unfortunately because of the recent bombing in the tourist section, Viking opted to substitute seeing troy and the ruins in Canakkale. It was still really interesting. The food was outstanding and so was the service. People on board just couldn't do enough for us. We ended up purchasing a beautiful Turkish rug and a gorgeaous blue diamond ring, both ...

First: it was Viking. We had three previous Viking Riverboat trips. Loved them all. Second: wanted to try sea going vessel. none previously. Unfortunately, Istanbul terrorism threat led us not to explore before trip. As a precaution, Viking met us with a bus at the airport, drove us directly to the ship, which soon departed. Viking flexibility was appreciated by nervous passengers. ...

This was one of our best cruises ever! We loved the ports we visited and the shore excursions were very organized and well worth the time. We loved that the shore excursions were included in the cruise price. We took advantage and did book two optional tours that included the region's cuisine. The optional tour prices were reasonable and well worth the price of the excursion. The ship's design is ...

I had heard good things about Viking and my husband and I wanted to check it out. I loved the size of ship and just the right capacity, the casual elegant ambiance, the attention of the staff to knowing our names and the overall cleanliness. Ours was the maiden voyage for Sea so it was not full to capacity, which made it quite nice and easy to get into restaurants and events. I also loved the ...

Simply the Best: Viking Sea

Viking Ocean is by far the best ocean cruise line we have taken. We have cruised with NCL, Princess and Celebrity and the level of service provided by Viking is a cut above the rest. First of all, we like their itineraries. We took the “Empires of the Mediterranean” tour from Istanbul to Venice and went to some fascinating venues including Santorini and Dubrovnik. Since there had been recent ...

My wife and I retired in the summer of 2009, up to that point I had never taken a cruise. My main reason was that I didn’t want to be stuck on a ship with nothing to do. Well I must say, was I ever wrong. We have since taken eight cruises to date, with more planned in the future. Our first experience with Viking was a City Lights River Cruise, from Paris to Prague. Needless to say it was an ...

We went on a Viking three week river cruise in 2014 and found it excellent so we, myself, husband and eldest daughter, booked on a Viking Ocean Cruise for 50 days departing Istanbul on 3rd April 2016 After we had booked, we found out that this would be the Viking Sea's maiden voyage and were a little apprehensive but decided that we would trust the Viking company and made our plans to have a few ...
