Great itinerary, excellent service and service staff

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sky

Even though we travelled extensively in Greece in the mid-1980's we found numerous excursions that took us to new territory. We thoroughly enjoyed this itinerary and we bought a number of additional excursions. Pros 1) We were happy with all stops and excursions except the included tour of Marseilles France (we made the best of it by walking briskly around the old port, which, has since ...

Beautiful Ship

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sky

We selected this cruise because of the reduced price. It was a remarkable deal. It was our first Viking ocean cruise. We love the Viking river cruises and have taken several. We liked the size of the ship and the passenger capacity; as we prefer the smaller ships to the mega ships. The food was very good; in both the main dining room and the specialty restaurants. The shows were lackluster - ...

Gorgeous Ship and Staff but some shortfalls

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sky

We cruise a lot and the Viking Sky is the prettiest ship we have experienced. Spacious and comfortable. The staff are wonderful. The quality of food is good but not great. More than enough offers, but the quality was uneven. Several frequent Viking clients agreed with my assessment. The Italian specialty restaurant was anything but special. We cancelled several of our reservations and opted ...

Bonjour Ponant

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Le Jacques Cartier

First, let me say that I really enjoyed my 9 day cruise on Ponant’s Le Jacques Cartier. The trip started in Istanbul and ended in Venice. It’s a luxury cruise line and much to my liking, it caters to the small passenger market. I believe there were 164 or so passengers on the cruise. So it creates an environment that caters to meeting people and moving about at an easy pace. None of the facilities ...

A beautiful new ship

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Le Bougainville

Our second cruise with Ponant, this time on their new ship, Le Bougainville. Our cabin on deck 5 was ready as we embarked early in Istanbul.. we found the cabin to be comfortable, enough space for 2, a comfy bed, lovely verandah. The linen was good quality. The bathroom was ideal, great Hermes products that were replenished daily. An excellent shower. The cabin was cleaned well each day. ...

It's the little things.

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sea

It is the little things That set voyages and companies apart. Viking is good at many, but not all. On the plus side are things like the heated bathroom floor ( but ours was cold for 3 days before they could fix it). The free spa area is terrific, but the men's sauna was down the entire trip. We made an error and charged an item to the wrong credit card on board. When we asked them to transfer the ...

Great cruise; saw a lot!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sea

We chose this cruise because we would see many different countries, including Israel and Italy. We began in Athens, Greece and did our own little tour in the afternoon the first day because we overslept in the morning and missed the morning tour. We were not all that impressed with what we saw of Athens, so that was OK that we just had an afternoon to view the Acropolis. Embarkation was easy ...

Great cabins, colourful decor, good buffet, great shows, but a few negatives.

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Star

Our outside cabin was great - spacious, heaps of storage space, excellent bathroom with non-stick shower screen and screened toilet. Buffet offered great choices but the decor needs updating. Some dishes were very salty. The pub restaurant was a nice place to dine or have a coffee and watch the atrium entertainment but choices were very limited, and service was very slow (almost non existent) ...

We chose this cruise because of the exciting ports we visited. We visited Israel and it was an amazing place. We stayed over night in Jerusalem and felt quite safe. The place is so full of history and is so powerful, just loved it. We thought the crew on Celebrity Constellation were great and very helpful especially a waiter in the buffet, his name was Angel and he was just loved by everyone. ...
