Lots to see if not been before, tours available from ship ( expensive ) or just get off and jump on a local trip and save. People said Port Arthur trip was good as weather only slight showers first day and also Richmond trip was good. Could not go up to Mt Wellington as clouds and showers on all the hills. ...

Beautiful city and gorgeous heritage listed homes which we took in from hop on hop off bus. People queue at dock for tickets but we saw many people just hand over cash on the bus. Skip the queues or book on your phone. Easy. Try and get on the newer ones so you can hear the commentary properly and they are more comfy and have air conditioning. We bought tickets in the 24Hour Hop On Hop Off red decker bus line. The fee of $30 per person (total $60) was not good value for us, the buses only operated between the hours of 9:00am and 4:30 pm. We visited the Cascade Brewery and could have done it in 10 minutes and $15 each way ($30 total) in a taxi cab.
