Beautiful ship with excellent staff but inferior ports of call

La Romana (Casa de Campo)

The brochure from the tour operator made this sound like a very nice cruise with some interesting ports of all. Unfortunately, several ports of call were very uninspiring and required extensive bus rides to the actual port of call such as Hue and Phnom Penh.  A few other ports were not worth the time to visit with very little to see and do such as Koh Samui, Thailand and Kuantan, Malaysia.  The boat is not suitable for moderate seas with passengers with any predilection towards sea sickness.  There were a lot of sea sickness on board with only moderate seas. I can only imagine what it would be like with stormier seas.  I will stay with the river cruise and larger ocean cruise ships that are more stable in rough water.

The staff on the boat were excellent and very personable. The cabin was spacious and well maintained by the cabin steward. It would have beeb nice to have a couple of 110 ac volts outlets since this ship is marketed for the American market by Vantage. There should also be two passenger elevators instead of one as the passenger elevator was out of service and climbing 3 flights of stairs was very inconvenient.  I would have preferred a sit down lunch instead of buffet meal to create a more luxurious experience.
