Came here a day before the cruise and stayed one day after. We did the free walking tour (you just pay what you think it is worth at the end) and also went to the Miniature Wonderland Museum. Highly recommend both! The walking tour lasted about 2 hours and we probably walked no more than 2 miles at the most and there were several breaks. The mini wonderland is amazing! Expected Hamburg to be a bit rough and slightly menacing, but it was totally different from that. Bought a 7.20euro 9-hour unlimited travel pass on the ferry which left from just behind the ship - covers ferries, buses, trams, Metro, and suburban trains.
