This was our first time at Carnival's private island, and it was terrific - big, open beaches, gorgeous water and sand, and lunch was included and delicious. If you're doing this, we highly recommend a beach clamshell, which is cheap (like $25 per shell). ...

Had never been to Half Moon Cay. Did not have any excursions planned. Our plan was to lay on the beach and be lazy with some drinks, and that's just what we did. The fact that it is a tender port is still somewhat obnoxious, waiting for the boat to take you to the beach- we did not get to the beach until 11am or so since we were in group 24. There is no good signage regarding where to go to "sign in" and the personnel are not great at communicating at all. ...

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Sunshine

Half Moon Cay is amazing! It truly is one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen! You do have to take a tender boat to get from the ship to shore and back. It's only about a 5-7 minute ride, but it can be pretty rocky! We had booked a Cabana on HMC which allowed us to be in the first tender off the ship. We were on our way to HMC by 8:30AM. When we first got on the Sunshine on embarkation ...
