Half Moon Cay = STUPID. Can’t even use your drink card here. Food is barely edible. We walked the remote path, as we had been here on prior cruises. Got started late, quit early, and did not eat here.

A nice sized t-shirt shop is near tender dock. Locals sell some handmade baskets but they only accept cash. My husband paid for the Lobster Fest and said it was amazing. I got a burger at the buffet and it was good. We sat at one of the open air bars and drank pina coladas until it was time to go. Read Less

The island belongs to the group that HAL is part of. The BBQ offered on the beach is truly disappointing as the food is really bad. Plus we had bought the Premium liquor package and to our chagrin we realized that it was not honored on the island even though it is run exclusively by HAL. Doesn't make any sense! The only redeeming quality is the beauty of the beach and color of the water. Read Less

Our favorite port! If you love a beach day, you will LOVE this port! They bring free food on shore and the water and beach are perfect! The only negative is the risk that the port will be cancelled by weather and the time it takes to get to and from shore because it's a tender port. But Carnival is planning to build a pier that should solve both of these!! Read Less

Surprised at how much I liked this one. I had been there before but it seemed somehow better. Maybe because I got further away from the crowds. Did not like the weird holding pen where they locked you in to wait for the next shuttle. ... Read More

Tendered in, excellant service to get scooter on board. Always felt safe. Only complaint drink package did not work on the private island. Plenty of places to sit. Ocean water, sand beautiful. BBQ lunch provided was very good.

Absolutely beautiful beach. Only thing is it's a tender port so prepare your backpack there isn't time to go back and forth. They provide a free BBQ there.

I had read so many good reviews of this private island in the Bahamas that perhaps I was bound to be disappointed by aspects of it. The site itself is very nice overall, but was not built with older guests in mind, especially those with mobility issues. The map shows there is a tram to take people to the lunch buffet, but we did not see any sign for it while we were there. When I asked an employee about the buffet, she said it was a “five minute walk” down the path, with no mention of a tram. As for the beach, the sand and water are beautiful, as is the architecture along the beach. There is a cute children's play area (which went unused while we were there, with so few children on the voyage). It was high tide, and the beach was very narrow - in fact, the first two rows of lounge chairs were literally in the water! Perhaps the beach was eroded by Hurricane Dorian, but it was way too narrow for so many guests at once. The only chairs available on the beach (without renting an expensive cabana) are lounge chairs, which are nearly impossible for someone with mobility issues to get in and out of. Another surprise: If you want a bottle of water, it costs $4.50 ! So be sure to bring your own water bottle from the ship. Read Less
