Did not take a shore excursion, my wife and I walked around the downtown area, shopped in a few of the nicer shops and ate a really nice lunch at Guy Harvey's Restaurant. The highlight of the day was having a Guy Harvey T-shirt autographed by the man himself. His office is above the store next to his restaurant and the sales staff encourage folks to go upstairs and have him autograph their items. I lover Cayman, just wish my wife liked to dive as some of my most memorable dives were around Cayman. Tendering to and from the ship is a bit of a pain but if you want to go ashore in places that don't have docking facilities, you have to tender. Read Less

They saved our water proof camera! They dove down twenty feet to get it from the ocean and they are very helpful with snorkeling!

It's nothing like it used to be. Typical tourest trap like all of the other ports. Most of the smaller bars have been bought out and replaced.

Grand Cayman: Again, getting through security was a breeze, we were only ever asked for our sea pass. Taxis here were nominal at around $4 to get to several beaches…we went in a packed van this time. People on the island were absolutely fantastic, very kind and bubbly. We spent the day at the Royal Palms and I could not recommend this spot more! Yes, there is a $2 entry fee but the beach is beautiful, private and incredible. Since there aren’t any “water sports/kids water toys/etc” it was sparse of kids/teens, which made for a quiet and peaceful day! This spot is purely al a carte, beach chairs are $8, drinks ran anywhere from $10 on up and were well made, some of the best drinks I had on the trip. Again, if we ever go back to this port we’ll be at this location, it was fabulous! Grand Cayman is a port I would go back to over and over again :-) Read Less

We booked Cpt Marvin's Snorkel trip ourselves. Watch your time we arrived one hr early since the time change. The office is located across the street off the pier .Nice shuttle bus and short drive to boat. We had a really nice time. For the price we snorkeled and stopped at stingray city. We would use this outfitter again. Only problem was the rain we hit returning to town and the tender. The rain was so hard it flooded the streets. Thunder /lightning and not shelter. everyone trying to get on board. Read Less

Day 3 - Grand Cayman - Carnival made this stop too short!! Grand Cayman is expensive enough without making us get back on at 2:30!! We already agreed to forget about Royal Palms this time, our girls want to shop and eat. It was scorching hot!! Worse than Jamaica with the humidity. But when we turned right off the cruise port (as we always do) we went far down this time to some of the better and more reasonably priced shopping. Soooo glad we did! I found the most amazing Caribbean dress!! for only 45 dollars! My daughters loaded up on outfits and trinkets. One store by the waters had sea shell pendants laced with gold trim for 3 bucks! I bought 5 of them - great stocking stuffers! We ate at the Paradise Restaurant-oh man expensive, but we didn't go to Royal Palms for the day so we spent our money shopping at this amazingly great restaurant! Best Conch chowder I ever had! This port was nice my only issue is the locals beg to much. For what ever reason they think that Americans are walking banks. They raise the prices on everything. You would be better off shopping at home.
