Yacht Club delivers again

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Divina

After writing an extensive and mostly glowing review of a 7 day voyage in MSC Splendida's Yacht Club May of 201, we returned in November of 2012 for 11 days on MSC's new Divina, again in a Yacht Club cabin. The first review was written in the glow of our first Med Cruise and Yacht Club experience. Does MSC's exclusive and pricey experience stand up to a second trips scrutiny? The Ship and public ...

On Friday afternoon we (family of four, two kids, 7 and 5) left home to drive from Germany through Switzerland to Milan. As this was the first day of fall break in our state and as there was a lot construction, we didn't make it to Milan before midnight. Stayed at the IdeaHotel Milan San Siro, which is easily reachable from the interstate and can be recommended for a quick stop. Originally, we ...

Reading the reviews about MSC, I had some fears about what we would we facing on MSC Fantasia (August 12-August 19, 2012). Fortunately, we all had a very good time, specially my children, aged 6 and 9. The embarkation in Genoa was very smooth. We got to our cabin and then went back and visited the Genoa aquarium which was great. Naples: we took a taxi to Pompeii, which was ...

An American perspective of the MSC Fantasia

We have only sailed with Costa before so I can only compare these two lines. Embarking was pretty painless but you are not given the warm and cozy feelings from customer service. The ship is beautiful and big. It took me almost the entire cruise to figure out where everything was (I still don't think I saw everything). We had 2 rooms (a balcony for us and an inside stateroom for the kids). ...

Much Much Better Than I Expected!

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Orchestra

Our embarkation at Livorno (which isn't available in the drop-down menu above!) was perfect. We arrived at 2 pm for a 7 pm departure and were on the ship in 10 minutes. Then a white gloved attendant took us to our upgraded cabin, 10164. Everyone we dealt with that day and every day on the ship spoke very good English and I never had a problem communicating. Our balcony cabin was lovely, ...

MSC Fantasia: Only problem is Italian Management

Check in procedure: It is strongly recommended to do the Internet check in. It saves you enormous time on arrival. With this little pre-work done check in goes smooth. "Valet" parking worked very well for us, turn over and return of the car was one of the most positive experiences of the trip. Cabin: We booked a balcony cabin on 10th floor in the center of the boat. Sufficient space ...

Free and Easy - Not Exactly!

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Splendida

This was our first cruise and we therefore had nothing to compare the experience with. All in all, we found the ship to be very luxurious and stylish, the staff very helpful and standards of cleanliness and hygiene were exemplary. We initially booked the cruise because it was calling at Gibraltar and it was a destination we were very interested in visiting. In comparison with other cruise ...

A wonderful vacation on the Splendida

The MSC Splendida surpassed our expectations. The embarkation process was a bit disorganized and took a while and most people sat in the hot waiting room for a few hours, but we walked around the city so for us, it was not too bad. We were happily surprised to have been upgraded from an inside cabin to a balcony room and the room was very nice! Everything was clean and the balcony and ...

Hi all reviews are subjective and it's about managing expectations. After reading the mixed reviews we decided to place our expectations towards the low end of the spectrum particularly after our fantastic time aboard the Carnival Magic in Aug. Perhaps this is why we had a superb family vacation! We are a family of 4 Brits and arrived at Malpensa airport on 17th dec. After being greeted we were ...

Have cruised twice previously in recent years with NCL (Gem) and Costa (Fortuna). Went with open mind and were happy with cruise and would book again if a good deal came up. Costa and NCL could not match the price we paid for 2 balconies cabins. However you must take into account all additional charges to really work out which company offers you the best deal. Firstly ship really is ...
