Review for a Italy Cruise on Ventura

This was our first cruise with P&O and it was a bit of a curate's egg, after a series of little disappointments, we came away feeling rather underwhelmed. This is a fly cruise but we got the full budget airline experience, being charged extra to sit with the person you are going with is a real bugbear, the charge could just as easily be made upfront. Our plane got changed and although we had ...

MSC Yacht Club....Not quite up to the Hype

Here are our PERSONAL views about our recent MSC yacht club experience on the Splendida. We have completed 6 previous cruises, but this was our first with MSC. We found a yacht club 'deal', and at the end of the day were pleased we did!. It may be of help to give the positives and negatives to help the reader, so here we go. Positive: We flew to Nice to depart Genoa. No problems with the flight, ...

Nice ship, but food was a disgrace to Italian cuisine

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Fantasia

After more than 30 cruises mostly on RCL and NCL, the time was right to try out an "Italian" cruiseline. Price was right and expectations were not too high. I read many reviews about MSC and especially Fantasia so sort of knew what to expect. Check In was easy and very well organized in Genoa. Ship appeared very well taken care of and quite grand. They obviously took a lot of thoughts into the ...

Don't Trust MSC - shoddy service and a joke complaints machinery.

Review for a Africa Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

After chaotic embarkation arrangements at Genoa we were pleasantly surprised at first by the quality of our suite. We soon found out that the advertisement of the suite as offering internet connection (with fee) was incorrect (we were simply told to go to reception and buy wifi time for connection in some public areas). My netbook had no wireless adapter! We complained and pointed out the adverts ...

We have just returned from a double cruise promotion in the Mediterranean and Black Sea -- 11 nights on the MSC Opera 21 October, two nights' stay in Mestre (Venice) and 11 nights on the MSC Orchestra 3 November. Whilst the food quality and temperature issues are the same for both vessels, these comments refer to our experience in the MSC Orchestra. This was our 4th cruise with MSC and ...

MSC Double cruise Part 2

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on MSC Splendida

After the MSC Divina we were given free overland transfers to Genoa but as soon as we arrived I felt a downgrade in everything compared to the Divina. We were dumped around 500m away from the rather dirty maritime station with all our luggage along with a few fellow ex-MSC Divina passengers. Instead of offering help or even giving us directions MSC staff came to collect a few cardboard boxes ...

Good value for money but

We had read the mixed reviews and decided to book this cruise which was offered at a VERY good price. We made a decision to go with low expectations - what we were looking for was a week in the sunshine with some r and r. The embarkation process was fairly painless and once we boarded we were very surprised by the ship, it is beautiful. The public rooms were lovely, the cabins VERY colourful, ours ...

Apologies for the length of this review: We actually boarded at Livorno but this wasn't an option in the review pick-list. We flew on Ryanair from Stn to Pisa, rented a car and spent 4 nights near Aulla in an excellent selfcatering apartment in the hills before dropping the car back to Pisa Airport and taking public transport to the port: here are a few tips we couldn't find on the internet ...

Having sailed on quite a few MSC cruises, it seems that overall service is deteriorating. Are the services bad? No Are the services good? No It is just all average...no more no less! It seems that management is only focused on a few things: 1.MSC Yacht Club, sometimes more than 5 all dressed up butlers where greeting the Yacht club members in port!! I'm sure most ...

This cruise was booked because of the price and the itinerary. We knew beforehand that we would probably be paying for everything except at foodtime. The Spendida was a lovely ship, and the number of ports visited were excellent. 9 ports in 11 days. We were only onboard ship for 2 sailing days and after visits to the different ports. There were some strange events happening aboard this ship. ...
