Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Sky Princess

We opted for an excursion: Gdansk on your own. Bus trip there and back with a visit time of 4 hours. We saw the Neptune Fountain, the Golden Gate structure, the Prison Tower and St. Mary's Basilica. Enjoyed this excursion as much as the price was reasonable. ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Island Princess

The Princess description said we'd see the old city and two specific churches--I especially like visiting old churches. We saw only one, and then at 12:15pm the tour guide said "and the next 2.5 hours are on your own; meet back here at 2:45. This is not a guided tour. Fortunately I had a GPS so I didn't get lost, but this was not what we were promised. ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Europa

Polish port of Gdansk, depending on which berth your ship is assigned, is 10-15 miles from the docking area in Gdynia, so you will need to take a shuttle or a taxi or arrange a tour. The city has a long and traumatic history, but is currently a brilliant European port for cruisers to spend at least a day in. If you have any interest in history and communism, visit the Solidarity museum, or ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Jupiter

We took the ship's walking tour but left partway through. Learned some things from the guide, but had several other things we wanted to see. Worked great for us to return to the shuttle bus pickup on our own. Again the cell phone map app was invaluable. Gdansk's Old Town is so much fun! Very photogenic. Two special churches are worth a visit, we thought. ...

We walked to Gdynia center, about 20 minutes although you can get a taxi or bus. Go and see Dad Pomorza sailing ship and old destroyer Błyskawica. Lord of restaurants around the harbour area. Good places to buy amber along the high street. It's much cheaper than on board or in Tallin or St Petersburg. Don't miss the polish donuts, ponczki, we ate four between us and they are huge. Also try ...

Walked 20 minutes to the city and just visited two churches. Cruise was offering shuttle buses for $15 per person but if your able and want to get your steps in, then walking is best. ...
