Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Miracle

A little disappointed at first when I looked out the balcony and saw the Port. It was a refinery with multiple freight shipping crates. More like Port Newark than an island paradise. The other side of the ship was the port with a small marketplace. We paid $5 a piece to take a taxi to Port Lucaya. It was a marketplace that sold souvenirs. The same stuff was at each booth. Some of the islanders ...

This is a cargo port, why they stop here is a mystery. The closest shopping is a 15 minute bus ride and it is the same "stuff" as in Nassau. ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Ecstasy

The straw market and shops, while there are not many of them, seemed a little hit or miss to me. I could have watched ...

Took the 10 dollar shuttle bus from port to the Straw market in town. What a waste of my time and money with the exception of being able to see how the people there live I probably would have stayed on the boat. I did hear comments from a German group of people who enjoyed snorkeling but that's just not my thing. ...

Not sure why the ships stop in Freeport. It is very industrial with an unattractive landscape. The Market is not worth spending taxi fare to ... opt for the shops in port instead or stay on the ship. ...
