The area in which the ship docks has a small port/shopping market area, wasn't to our taste at all and took all of 10 minuets to walk around. Cant comment on taxi journeys etc further afield on the island as it started raining so just got back onboard. ...
This was the worst port I have ever gone to on any cruise. The island is still messed up from storms. Barely any shops or resturants open, looked like a ghost town. 30 minute cab ride from town and when you arrived at the town or shopping area it was like a ghost town. Waste of time stopping there. ...
We stayed in a straw market and it was cool chatting with the locals. There was a bar that stayed open late just to sing and dance with all of us as we were pulling away. It was a good experience but we didn't feel there was much to do. We got beers, mixed drinks in coconuts and conch critters. All of it was great. The locals were wonderful but I don't think I would want to go back to Freeport. ...
