Luckily we booked an excursion through NCL.. We did kayaking through a mangrove forest and had a picnis lunch provided on a private beack at Lucaya National Park. The secluded beach was gorgeous....mile after mile of white sands and crystal clear water. With that said....Freeport was really like a ghost town.....if I were NCL I would make this a day at sea. I liked the excursion....but most people ...
We thoroughly enjoyed our snorkeling trip with Captain Tony on Sand Dollar Cruises. We had heard of this excursion on Cruise Critic and were pleased that it was all that we hoped for and more. There were ten of us on the catamaran and we each got individual treatment. We motored out to Treasure Reef and put the sails up to come back in. Saw lots of different and beautiful fish and coral. This was ...
In Freeport, it cost us $10 per person each way to go to Laugna Beach. We ended up walking around, and going to the beach. The water was beautiful. There weren't too many people on the beach, and we took lots of pictures. We had an awesome time, just relaxing and playing in the surf. The water wasn't too bad, however, we were a little cold at first.

Upon arriving into Freeport, Grand Bahamas, the first thing we noticed was a very thick yellowish gray mist coming from the harbor and spreading out into the bay. We saw that it was coming from smoke stacks at an industrial area in the harbor. It seemed to dissipate as the wind blew in another direction. We pulled into the harbor and took pictures of a very picturesque scene. Colorful little ...
My DH and I only got off the ship, and stayed in the little straw market near the dock. The ship docks quite a way from town, but the taxis only cost $5 pp each way. We talked to some people who had taken taxis into town, and they said that the beach there is beautiful. There is no beach close to the dock. ...
Port Lucaya beach was nice we "squatted" the Radisson, that resort is new and seemed 90% empty, the whole port seemed dead. Nice weather and facilities, not much shopping at Port Lucaya Marketplace.

My rating of Freeport is based on our tour with Pinetree Stables. We booked a tour directly with the owner for a two beach/ecotrail ride. Cab ride was about 10-15 minutes ($5 pp) to the stables.
We had a group of 5 people (including my 8 year old daughter). We were the only ones on the ride along with three guides. The owner kept my daughter's horse right behind her and led it the ...
We went to Paradise Cove for a snorkeling trip. Our driver was very informative and gave us lots of information about the island. The staff was very friendly, except the lady at the register who didn't want to give me the discount that Barry had offered me. She wanted to know why I didn't print out my email from Barry to prove that I was suppose to get the discount. So if you email Barry in ...
