We have been here several times. While they have posted lots of guards in the streets after you leave the gated shopping district we were still hounded hard by aggressive local males. They tried to sell everything from trinkets, to hair braiding to drugs and sexual favors. I will probably not cruise ships that port here any longer. Why port at a place you do not feel safe walking outside of the gated shopping district. Read Less

We climbed the falls for the first part of our excursion which was awesome. The second part of the excursion was at Reggae Hill - not awesome. Would not recommend. Read More

We stayed in the secured port area, and enjoyed the area set up for the local artisans. Some items were pretty standard, but there were some unique items, such as the hand carved wooden stingrays that tempted me. The artist was even willing to carve the names of the three grandchildren on them. But make sure you bring cash, because these folk do not accept ccs. Read Less
