Dubrovnik was fabulous, exceeded my expectations. Lovely city to walk round, narrow streets and it never felt crowded, walked part way round the walls and the views were just stunning. Booked a mini bus tour which last 1 and a half hours and this was great, travelled up to where the cable car stops and the views were amazing, then onto a beautiful waterfall. ...
Again we berthed away from the town so had to pay €12 each for the shuttle to the old town. Having been there several times before we found the crowds and heat too much, so we returned to the ship quite quickly after a brief walk around. ...
We wandered the city, did the walk around the city walls for an amazing view of Dubrovnik--highly recommend! We found a place to taste delicious Croatian wines. We shopped at the market for lavender products and other specialties of the area. Don't forget to try the maraschino &/or pear liqueurs! ...
The old town in Dubrovnik is nice, but the entrance can get completely overwhelmed with people in the middle of the day. This would be a nice place to spend time when there were no cruise ships around.
Not recommended to walk from ship to old town. Take a taxi or bus. Definitely walk around city walls. That was the highlight. The cable car was also fun. ...
