I had booked a tour through Elegant Irish Tours. We were so late into port that I did not expect them to show up, though they say they did. Another couple told us they had booked through Elegant Irish Tours also and did not locate the van so struck out on their own. This is not the fault of Princess Cruises but we told that some of the passengers did locate Elegant Irish Tours so we are not being offered a refund on this excursion. Those who did make it to the Trinity Libary to view the Book of Kells had the door shut in their faces due to the late arrival. Read Less

Because of mechanical issues, we didn't reach Dublin until mid-afternoon, which cancelled our tour to Powerscourt.

Again we did our own thing. Had to pay for the shuttle from the dock to the centre of town but then enjoyed our walk to Dublin Castle and back. Rained for part of our time in port but we made sure we had our umbrellas. Wish hadn't rushed so much because of the rain and waited for it to stop so we could have had a meal in one of the pubs. We did Dublin on our own. Bought tickets for the Book of Kells in advance. Also saw the Archeological museum, and went to the Evensong service at St Patrick's Cathedral.

As we were travelling with a group of 80 we did not do any of the ships excursions as they are outrages with the price. Our tour operator had arranged and booked private tours in every port , that was the same and in most cases better than what the ship offered. The shocking part was that we paid for 6 days of touring, the same as what Celebrity charged for a single day doing the Golden Circle tour. This was a no brainier for us. Read Less

We took the Princess provided bus to the city center and saw the book of Kells and visited the Temple Bar area. We saw the castle and did our shopping in Dublin. Nice city with friendly people.

NCL charges a fortune for this tour, so if you can get cheaper transportation from the port, then do so and just book it online directly with Guinness. If you have time, do the Connoisseur experience, which can be booked online as well.

Advertised as 2 days in Dublin, when it was only one day with a 1.30am sailing time the ‘next’ day, very misleading. You have to pay a shuttle fee to get into Dublin I think it was $15 each return

Because Dublin is a commercial port, Celebrity supplied a shuttle bus (which was accessible) but at an eyewatering cost of € 13 each! which dropped people off way outside the centre of Dublin. We have been to Dublin many times before so for a change we walked around the corner from the drop-off point to Pearce Station and jumped on the DART train to Bray. What a beautiful place and the scenery from the train was superb. The cost of a 45 minute journey, there and back was only € 6.50 each and the train was fully wheelchair accessible with staff on hand at all stations to assist. Read Less

Took ship's shuttle bus in & walked on our own. Went to Guinness Storehouse, very interesting & informative, would recommend. Then to bar where Irish coffee originated, again very interesting & fun. Just walk around town & return to ship for dinner. Next day we took shuttle to town again & visited Trinity College & Book of Kells - the book is more hype than substance but the old library was worth every minute of visit. Visited Chester Beatty Museum with free entrance ! Exhibits were brilliant, highly recommend. Read Less
