The LUAS, the light rail, is a 15 minute walk from the pier, albeit crossing one busy road. It takes you to the center of Dublin. Recommended: Phoenix Park walk, Kilmainham Gaol, Grafton Street, Temple Bar.

Took Hop On Hop Off bus. Visited Guiness Storehouse which was well worth it. Didn't have time to see any more.

This was our fifth trip to Dublin. Took a taxi to city centre and rode the hop on/hop off bus. Lots of traffic but a good look at the city. Not especially exciting.

We did the two-day hop-on-hop-off pass and self-guided to many of the Dublin sites. Did so much the first day that we simply walked to a couple of places on the second day and did not hop-on.

We took a local taxi to Castleknock Golf Course on our first day in Dublin and really lucked out with our driver. He gave us a tour of the city on the way to the course and pointed out things for us to see the next day. He was so good, we asked for his card and called him to pick us up after our round! Golf was very good and this was a wonderful course for average golfers. We could easily walk it and the rental clubs were decent. The next day, we visited Dublin Castle, Trinity College (prebook tickets for the Book of Kells or you'll be in line hours), some churches and a great pub with 125 local beers! The thing we didn't like about the port of Dublin is that the ship docks a long way from the actual city and there aren't enough cabs coming into the port. Prebook your cabs if you can! Read Less

It was simple to take the free Princess shuttle into town, and then explore on our own: we enjoyed Temple Bar and people watching. (We've explored the tourist sights in Dublin before on a previous trip)

We used the Hop On Hop Off to tour the city. As busy or as relaxed as you want. We didn't buy tickets in advance to the goal, and in consequence had a 2 hour wait.

Take the hop-on/off bus. It passes all the major sites and the craic from the driver is most entertaining. Nice art gallery and the Guinness brewery is a landmark worth a visit.
