The city provided free bus shuttle to the city from the port, the problem I think they sit people by alphabetic order (LOL) it took us 2 hours to get out of the ship .... we visited the "tourist trap" Guinness brewery, a word of advise RESERVED YOUR ENTRANCE TICKET IN ADVANCE. My hubby and I booked 2 tours in Dublin: 1) Guiness brewery, 2) Jameson Whiskey. Guiness was interesting but basically was a self guided tour by reading wall plaques as you made your way through the factory. Jameson was very interesting with a live person giving the history of the company and process. We also booked the special tasting for after the tour. A complete lesson in whiskey tasting. ...

We pre booked 5 nights in Dublin renting a penthouse in suburban Dublin. Took Irish Rail one day to Gallway. Ireland has a good transportation system and it pays to buy a 3 day Leap Pass should you be in the area for 3 days or 4. Nice lunch one day at the Gresham Hotel.
