As we were travelling with a group of 80 we did not do any of the ships excursions as they are outrages with the price. Our tour operator had arranged and booked private tours in every port , that was the same and in most cases better than what the ship offered. The shocking part was that we paid for 6 days of touring, the same as what Celebrity charged for a single day doing the Golden Circle tour. This was a no brainier for us. Read Less

NCL charges a fortune for this tour, so if you can get cheaper transportation from the port, then do so and just book it online directly with Guinness. If you have time, do the Connoisseur experience, which can be booked online as well.

Advertised as 2 days in Dublin, when it was only one day with a 1.30am sailing time the ‘next’ day, very misleading. You have to pay a shuttle fee to get into Dublin I think it was $15 each return

Took ship's shuttle bus in & walked on our own. Went to Guinness Storehouse, very interesting & informative, would recommend. Then to bar where Irish coffee originated, again very interesting & fun. Just walk around town & return to ship for dinner. Next day we took shuttle to town again & visited Trinity College & Book of Kells - the book is more hype than substance but the old library was worth every minute of visit. Visited Chester Beatty Museum with free entrance ! Exhibits were brilliant, highly recommend. Read Less

We tender in at Dun Laoghaire. Tendring process was a nightmare, NCL really needs to step up their game here. Was able to get the 9 am train to Dublin and used to HO / HO bus. Found some of the stops where tourist traps but overall had a great time. Tendering back to the ship was better. NCL should have known that there was a large group of PAX with mobility issues aboard and additional help was needed to load the boats. Read Less

The first day we took a cab into town. Taking a cab each way for two of us was basically the same price as the Princess Shuttle. Do make sure the cab runs the meter. 2 of 4 cab drivers didn't and tried to overcharge us. We did our own walking tour of the city. We went to the Kehoe pub which was interesting. We also visited Dublin Castle. The next day we cabbed to the train station early and caught the metro out to Bray. At Bray we took the beautiful cliff walk over the hill and ended up in Greystones where we had a nice lunch before catching the scenic metro that goes along the coast through some tunnels back to Dublin. Our third time in Dublin (the sixth port of call), so we just tok the free shuttle-bus to the city-centre (about 20 minutes each way). Lots to do in Dublin - whether independently or an organised trip.

Dublin, Ireland: As the ship docks a way from town, we decided to take the NCL ($15usd) shuttle instead of trying to find our way by public transit. I had “googled map” a walk to the Molly Malone statue, the Spire, St. Margaret’s cathedral, Trinity College/Book of Kells, Temple Bar area, and Dublin Castle ($8eur). The Dublin Castle tour was excellent as we went underground to see the original walls as well as visiting the chapel/church. The chapel is no longer in use but the condition, styling was different and spectacular. We didn’t have time to see the Book of Kells as the lines were long and we didn’t pre-book. It was cultural night so the museums were open and free in the evening. We ended our visit at the National Gallery. Needless to say, we will return to Dublin as there’s so much more to see and the vibe of the city is exciting. Read Less

Excellent, great live tour guide unlike regular hop on hop off, yet you could get off and on at will. Loved it.

It was walking tour that included St. Steven's cathedral and then the city. 4.5 hours. Just a bit long but a lot of good information.

We had been to Dublin before and had seen many of the places on the ships excursions. We walked around and explored on our own and also did an afternoon tea at the Waterbury hotel. All in all a great experience.
