Review for a Middle East Cruise on MSC Opera

we chose this cruise at last minute - the ship itself was clean and well run however the meals at the buffet wasnt hot and not a lot of choice. the restaurant meals were ok but nothing exciting as the menu was a bit much the same most nights. we booked an outside cabin with restricted view OMG we couldn't see outside the window at all, not even the sky as a life boat was hard up against the ...

Review for a Middle East Cruise on MSC World Europa

I usually do travel in the luxury class however from time to timeI do something else just to be away for one week or so. I had pleasant stays on the Splendida and the Seaview before so I gave the brand new ship a chance. Embarkation in Dubai was a very fast procedure for guests in Yacht Club. The World Europa best can be described as a floating huge resort with lots of restaurant , bars and ...

Underwhelming Experience with Silversea Cruise

Review for a Africa Cruise on Silver Spirit

Silversea is promoted as – and to some degree is – a luxury cruise line with medium sized vessels (which translates to fewer passengers), attractive destinations for the more mature and experienced traveler, and inclusive options including shore excursions, wine and spirits, and gratuities. Just the cruise I was looking for after experiencing several crowded, cities on the seas with buffet dining ...

A very disappointing experience, especially for a new ship

Review for a Middle East Cruise on MSC Bellissima

What a stupendous ship - such an exciting design, with friendly and attentive staff. The facilities were excellent (especially for kids) and were kept very clean. The pools were good especially the indoor pool. How I wanted to like this ship! BUT, BUT, BUT: What a disappointment! It was not MSC's fault that only about 600 people chose to go on this cruise (out of a possible 5000+), ...

Review for a Middle East Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

We chose this via an advert in the Saturday Mail magazine last year, which included a 3 night stay in the RIU hotel on Deira Island. We throughly enjoyed our time at the hotel and given our experience on the cruise ship we wished we had stayed at the hotel. The check in at the cruise terminal was slow and over complicated and our cases took forever to arrive at our cabin. The shower in our ...

Bland food and undrinkable 'house' wine

Review for a Middle East Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

There is a lot of food available but mostly bland. especially at dinner. I purchased the easy drinks package and the house wine was so bad that after the 3 day I cancelled the package. I love Italian pasta and you would think being an Italian ship you will be serve a decent pasta but sadly not. There was pasta but nothing special, The one evening at dinner I ordered the ravioli with spinach, what ...

Marooned in the middle of the Indian Ocean

Review for a Africa Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

User Avatar

Currently floating around the Indian Ocean a sport after port cancels our ability to land. The crew are not handling this at all well. God knows where and when we shall land. We were asked for a health check so as to land at the Seychelles. The instructions were for half the passengers to turn up at the same time to the disco. Absurd decision. Chaos ensured as queues formed haphazardly and ...

This was to be the cruise of a lifetime but now it will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. Even before we embarked, the itinerary had been changed. It was only when I contacted a tour company in Madagascar that I found out that Madagascar had been taken off the itinerary. No communication from NCL, though they were quick enough to send communications about booking tours! Little did ...

16 consecutive days at sea around the Indian Ocean

Review for a Africa Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

User Avatar

We booked a cruise from Dubai to Cape Town on the Norwegian Spirit because it had an interesting itinerary but, after just 3 stops, we ended up with 16 consecutive days at sea. During embarkation we were disappointed to learn that the stop at Nosy Be, Madagascar, had been cancelled but an alternative call at La Digue, Seychelles was scheduled. A few days later, stops at the Seychelles, ...

QUITE SHOCKED

Review for a Middle East Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

We had not been with this company before, and we were expecting this cruise to be better than the cruise we did with another company the week before. Strangely enough, we enjoyed the other cruise, but not this one. Where do we start? In our opinion we felt that Jewel of the Seas desperately needed a refurbishment, and until this is possible, we felt that a good clean and a lick of paint would ...
