Review for a Middle East Cruise on MSC Opera

We chose this cruise as my daughter is based in Dubai. Although we enjoyed the various stops I would not consider the itinerary worthwhile enough to fly all the way from Europe for. In fairness to MSC we found the ship itself to be much better than many of the reviews on here. The cabin was clean, clearly refurbished fairly recently and the same could be said of the ship as a whole. Very clean ...

Expensive and inexperience

Firstly the ship was only two thirds full and we were on board for 28 days. If you paid half of what they asked it would be still expensive and not value. The Seishin restaurant is supposed to be Japanese themed with a surcharge of US$40 per head. The Wagyu beef which is supposed to be marbled was not and the Miso soup was like beef broth. Any resemblance to Japanese was coincidental. The ...

First time on this line and attracted by the great itinerary. Used to the ship and cabin layout as we are multi time cruisers with Azamara/Regent/Holland America. The experience on the ship was good with the staff pleasant and obliging. The food was very good and found their approach to dress standards sensible, although some do push the envelope and look 'too casual' after hours in areas such as ...

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the reputation of having some of the finest food and wines on the sea. Oceania assured us that their agent could still get us e-tourist visas for India even though India was no longer allowing Canadians to obtain an e-visa due to a spat they were having with the Canadian government. We advised the agent of this. However, they insisted we could ...

Arrived port check-in 08.35 (our allocated check-in time 09.00). Well organised, but all rather laborious (Covid vaccination certs, PCR test certs, Passports, Photo ID, make copies of various certs). Once on board some of the staff seemed a little uncertain. Had to join a very slow moving queue for Reception as my photo ID had failed to transfer to my boarding card. Arrived at our Aurea balcony ...

I chose this cruise for our 30 th wedding anniversary, i Read some poor reviews about msc before we travelled and I thought it was people being fussy but now I understand how they felt. The ship is obviously new and stunning the food and drink were OK we had the premium plus drinks package but it was not set up when we boarded. Therefore it was disappointing to be told that we had to pay for the ...

Booked with my friend as a 'girls getaway'. Not a cheap option and we upgraded our cabin! Have traveled mainly with Celebrity & Royal Caribbean. Stunning ship, very clean! Staff (in the main) helpful & pleasant. I noticed in a previous review they had rated it as a 2 star Spanish all inclusive level!! To be honest, I feel that is generous - I had better school dinners! Main restaurants ...

Suite 9010 - The Cruise That Should Never Have Happened.

28 days from Dubai to Hamburg visiting places I had never been was the mantra for our cruise. We set sail on March 12th 2020, same day I believe the world Pandemic was officially announced. Should MSC have let the cruise depart Dubai? - absolutely not. MSC's only objective was to get their vessel back to one of its home ports. There was no regard given as to the well being of its passengers, ...

I thought this a good time as any to write this review, as I’m lying in bed listening to the clanking and pounding coming from above our cabin. Disappointment began departure day. They had the wrong boarding time listed on our e tkts and we could have checked in about 4 hrs earlier. Fortunately, we didn’t miss check in completely. This is a new Billion dollar ship. They should have spent a ...
