We wanted to see Maya sites and wanted to try Ponant. We have sailed on Cunard, Celebrity, Oceania, Windstar, Seabourn, Holland America and Viking - 20+ cruises in all, 6 on Seabourn.
I would say 80-90 percent of the passengers spoke French as their primary language. We enjoyed that.
The officers are French, the staff Indonesian or Filipino.

We chose MSC as they were the only line to depart from Cozumel, a short journey from where we live in Mexico. Having trawled through a lot of quite negative reviews, we were not expecting an especially great experience in Armonia, but were very pleasantly surprised. Living 30 minutes from Port Tampa makes this a great and affordable cruise. The ship is definitely "dated", especially with some of the big cruise liners available. I found it to be nostalgic. The ship has held up very well. We feel that chops was not up to what we are use to. Johnny Rockets waited 1 hour only to get the wrong food. The show was Saturday night fever was just not great. We have done many cruises on RCI but this latest one was for relaxation only. The Boarding process was quick and smooth. We had to wait until 1:30 to get into our cabin.
