With the hurricane switching itineraries most of the eastern ports had to accommodate extra ships and this was no exception. Same as Cozumel just smaller, they're building up around there. They have a water park not to far from the pier so the next time we're there with the kids I would take them to the water park. This time we just walked around and I did buy me a Phillip Stein watch which I love!! ...
Not much to do here. Very hot, 3 other cruise ships in port, so everything was crowded. Disappointing destination. None of the shore excursions offered by RCCL sounded like much fun, so we walked ashore and just tried to wing it, but it was just too hot and too crowded so we wound up going back to the ship. ...
The little shopping village in Costa Maya has come a long way. They have put in a tremendous amount of time, energy and money to make this a great little destination (Bravo!) We got off the boat for about an hour and saw all there was to see. All the shops pretty much have the same high-priced items. No ATM's were available so make sure you bring cash. There is a large beautiful pool in the middle of the port which was neat. This port was by far the nicest. If it wasn't so hot we may have ventured further into the port. ...
