Free local shuttle to and from town. You can also walk but it’s a busy road. Get directions. Go to Tom’s Port Guide for information on the local walking trails. We spent the day on the 8 km Gorge Trail and saw Lady Slipper flowers but not much else beyond the Margaret Bowater Park (you can swim in the river here). The modern City Hall has a museum and a grass roof. Bootleg Brew Co had a choice of 8 brews. Drunken Muppet and Just The Tip were good. Read Less

Enjoyed a lot, as this was my first time there and we grabbed a local cab driver and asked him for the guided tour. We got very lucky, getting an excellent driver with a great personality.

Not the most exciting stop BUT the people of Corner Brook were wonderful, Free ten min shuttle to center of town, a town ambassador on board pointing out things...In the city square the had a market of local stuff for sale and then an indoor market where you could (if you want) buy Moose Soup...I don't think the Moose was too thrilled...The indigenous people dressed in their cultural clothing and did drums and chanting...a local group sang Newfie songs. There were WONDERFUL HOSTS...bravo..thank you. Read Less

Cute town. Ship provided a free shuttle. After exploring the small town, I went to Corner Brook Stream Trail, not far from the centre of town. It was mid-October to enjoy some Fall colours, brooks, streams and peacefulness of the area.

A very small town with little to do. The fall foliage was beautiful, but this area is more known for winter snowmobiling. Walked around then back to the ship.

Feel sorry for this woebegon place. We were cancelled out of the stop the day before and the Gaspe the day after and instead stopped here, presumably because it has a pier the ship can just tie up to, right next to a paper mill. There is really nothing to do in this place. We came on a rainy day and it was Labor Day, so everything was closed, but looking around and we took a walk around a nice lake, there isn't much here. Not much to see in town. Not sure about the surrounds and all the tours were sold out early and there were minimal choices at the dock for doing anything on your own.

Not a lot of tourist things to do in the city but they have a very nice woods walking trail in the city. The city also provides a shuttle and a very warm greeting from the locals. before and after going into the city.

We had decided not to take a trip from this port as we had read that it was possible to walk the stream trails which sounded good. In practice we were told by a person in the port that the longer trails would take about four hours to walk so they suggested we just walk around the lake near the town. We found this trail to be uninspiring and we could hear traffic noise the whole way round. There was not a lot in the town, but we went into a church and there was a museum, which we did not to go into, as we wanted to stay outdoors because weather was good. We were told we could go up to the roof garden in City Hall if we asked at the reception desk. We did this and were asked to sign in before going up in the lift. There was no charge and there were good views from the top, but not many plants in the garden as the snow had not long cleared. We regretted not walking further or getting some sort of transport out of town as there was not much in the town. We did stay on deck for the sail out of port though and that was very picturesque. It took about an hour to sail out of the fjord. Read Less
