Took the bus tour to Mt Etna and was driven mad by the shrill and overly amplified voice of the tour guide. Apart from that the tour was great and so glad I got to see Mt Etna.

Liked this port. We walked from the ship into the town and took around 10 minutes to get to the Duomo square. There are some very impressive buildings in Catania. The market is well worth visiting especially the fish market, there were lots of stalls where you could try the food. We then walked up Via Etnea where there were some very nice shops and came across various stalls in the side streets. Bought local Canoli at a bakery, it was delicious! Read Less

Went to Mt. Etna, and a beautiful jewelry workshop, tour through Celebrity. Don't be mislead, they are showing you their workshop, not you actually making the jewelry. Nice tea and biscuits/finger sandwiches-type spread on their lovely patio. The best part of the tour, though, was the end, when the tour guide took us on an extra-special route back to the ship, where we were able to view some historical (as in 225 BC) highlights of Catania. We walked around on our own as we had already decided where and what we were going to do. It is easy to get off the ship and walk around. We do not like large group tours.

It would be awesome if HAL could offer a shuttle to passengers into a town center/square, or at least to the outside gate of this very ugly port. The town is very interesting, the port area is not.

Our guide was Antonella. We went on two hour walking tour of the major highlights of the city. She then sparked if we would like to go Mt Etna. So off we went. On the way back from Etna my explained how she was looking for a certain type of pan for baking pastries etc. off we went to the mall and my wife bought five different pans. Nice city, great to go the volcano. My dice is basking as I write. Read Less

Taste of Sicily, Mt. Etna & Taormina. Rainy day and this should have been cancelled. We rode on a bus up to Mt. Etna (which you couldn't see because if was pouring rain then we were told to get off the bus and we all crammed into a small shop to get our Cannolli with at least 4 other busloads of tourists. It was elbow to elbow and then we ran back through the rain and road down to Taormina which was interesting. Did a little shopping and came back on the bus. Read Less
