This was a great time, definitely recommend, small children may be a little afraid because the monkeys jump all over you.

We made reservations to Dreams Resort (which changed to HILTON THAT DAY so I think they are doing away with the day pass). It was only $65 pp for all inclusive and then we took a cab for the 7 of us and three others for $15 pp round trip. The resort was lovely with a beautiful beach, bars everywhere and a place on the beach to get fresh cut fruit (as there isn't much fruit on the boat). We ate at their buffet which was really mediocre but the drinks and fruit were great. Read Less

We did our own excursion and rented a day pass from resortforaday.com for an all inclusive pass at the Dreams La Romana resort. Absolutely AMAZING and worth every penny. The resort and beaches were gorgeous, drinks were strong and plentiful and they even had a kids camp that my kids went to and loved. This gave us a nice 1 hour break to relax by the pool and enjoy some quiet time. After visiting this resort, I would actually love to fly back and stay! Read Less

Took a bus for $8 per person to Altos De Chavon. Nice place for a few pictures. There is a small museum and a few shops. Bus picked us up right where it dropped us off. Very easy and professional.

My wife and I went into town to see what the downtown looked like. We had a drink at the newest cleanest looking business "Papa Johns" and sat on their patio. The entire time a young kid dressed in a black hoodie paced back and forth beside the business carrying a Remington 410 shotgun with a pistol grip slung over his shoulder. The waitress told us he was there to protect us..........Cheque please!! Read Less

Walked through cruise port and caught communal taxi to Bayahibe beach. All taxi fares shown on board next to where taxi park. A third of the price being offered on the ship, with return time mutually agreed by passengers. Plenty of loungers and space to chill out on lovely beach, just pull your lounger to your peace of quiet. Got rained off but consoled ourselves with couple of HUGE beers and free wi fi. Don't waste $$$ on the the train from port down to town, armed guards and not much to see, was the reports. Read Less

We took a bus to downtown and got swindled by the locals. As you get off the bus they swipe you away to their booth and you get bombarded by vendors surrounding you trying to sell their goods. It's next to impossible to escape them and even if you do buy they still rip you off by not giving back exact money. You want to escape so badly that you really don't even care anymore! Read Less
