Much larger city than I expected and traffic is horrible! Old city was very interesting but the vendors make the city less than optimal to tour--can't even sit anywhere without being approached (and touched) for a massage. Nice area of port with a tourist store (nice goods) and monkeys, parrots and peacocks. Would be a nice spot to spend a few hours if not interested in a tour ...

Great port. We did a ship tour - highlights walking tour of Cartagena which was excellent. On the second day we hired a private car and driver to take us to the National Aviary which was well worth a visit. The port area is one the nicest we've seen with a natural area before reaching the ship. They have all kinds of birds, monkeys and sloths in the open as well as a really good gift shop with ...

We did the city tour, and our guide brought us to the fort, said a few things but we didn't have time to go in anywhere, instead we were swarmed by people selling items. The restaurant at the end of the tour was very nice, on the water with a nice sampling of cultural food. However, there were armed guards with AK's guarding the ramp from the parking lot to the back patio where we were sitting. ...

City walking tour - covered a lot of area, took lots of pics, saw lots of the "old" city structures, church, etc. Then took a boat tour, native dancers on the boat, interesting to hear about the area, took a quick tour of a place near the pier with lots of birds, flamingos, etc. It was pretty. Tour guide was excellent. ...

Just awesome from a cultural and historic perspective. Take an Uber to “Centro” (historic walled city) for under $5 and walk around. You basically can’t go wrong. ...
