Naples in the morning terrible but the afternoon in the ruins of huculana made up for it. The guide was good and the monuments spoke for themselves . Sadly the musuim was not open to the public but still work the money. ...
This was gorgeous. We had hired a boat to take us on a private tour around the island but the tide was up and the water was rough so we took one of the MANY excursion boats from the port for a ride. We then took the venicular(sp) to the top, had lunch, shopped and walked down. Great day. ...
Booked private tour with 8 other CC members -- excellent tour of the island beginning with jetfoil trip from Naples. Minibuses are used for transportation around the island due to winding narrow roads (and of course walking). Visited the "Mamma Mia Road", Capri, Anacapri & the Church of San Michele (painted tile floor which is not tredded upon) & the Gardens of Augustus. Also took funicular ...
Bused to Pompeii, kinda cool but it helps if you have a vivid imagination about what things might have looked like. Volcano is very far away considering that it buried the town. Then on to Sorrento with lots of OMG views from bus straight down to ocean 1000 feet below. Neat, scenic little touristy/souvenir town and reasonably priced. Then took high speed catamaran to Capri. Capri was the most ...
Very pretty place but very touristy. Again we did our own thing rather than ships excursion. Best way to see this Island is to take a boat trip around the island and stop off at deserted coves and beaches. Worth a visit. ...
This was to be a half day tour, but at the last minute, it became a full day. We took a boat to Capri then a bus to Ana Capri. We were given two options, a chair lift ride to the top of the island or a tour of a museum. If one wanted to do both, there was an up charge for the additional ticket. We chose the chair lift ride which was breath taking! Next, we went to lunch at a local restaurant ...
Nice experience, going up to Anacapri from Capri. Nice views coming into port. Missed taking the cable car trip to the top--would have been worthwhile to do that.
Next port was along the Amalfi coast--don't see a listing for it. This was lovely with a great ride (magnificent views) up to Ravello. ...
When the ship docks in Naples, passengers have a choice of seeing the Amalfi Coast or the island of Capri. Since we had driven the Amalfi Coast, we chose Capri. It is an easy port to visit on your own. The walk from the ship to the ferry stop is quite long, but there is a shuttle. The ferry is approximately 45 minutes and docks in the Marina Grande. From this busy port, you can easily book a boat ...
