We chose the 18 night Cairns to Broome cruise as a way the see several key things in Australia: snorkel at the Great Barrier Reef; have meaningful experiences with several indigenous communities; see the Kimberley Region in all its glory. I sent a letter to the company president and to Guest relations which included the following points: • Very late itinerary change (April 7) severely ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Coral Discoverer

This cruise visited the Outer Great Barrier Reef, which isn't an easy area to reach. Being a very small ship, the cost was pretty high compared to the larger ships we usually cruise on. Southern lockdowns meant that the ship was less than half full (just 33 passengers). A major factor which was outside Coral's control was that we had rough weather which meant we couldn't visit Cooktown (we flew ...

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on L'Austral

This was called an "expedition cruise". And yes, there were some interesting excursions. But most afternoons were scheduled for swimming and/or snorkelling off a small island with no alternative activities. Not everyone in the main cruising demographic needs so much water activity. We had been to some of the excursion sites before and found this time the visits were shorter, rather ...

Sailed many times with RC Still on cruise.......unfortunately or fortnately cruising is now within financial reach of many people. Whilst its good that cruising has become so accessible, sadly many passengers do not know how to behave. The British teenagers on board are..not all..but many, are rude, obnoxious and move round the ship in packs. Many of the women are dressed like. ' ...

We were so looking forward to this cruise as we had travelled on the Azamara Journey previously and had thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This recent cruise was a different kettle of fish and not high on our list of good experiences. The embarkation was a debacle. It was very hot & humid in Cairns and standing waiting in line for 2 hours was not a good start to the cruise. When we finally ...

My husband and I love cruising, and have just enjoyed our 20 th cruise. However we were so disappointed with our cruise earlier this month on Azamara Quest. We had joined the Journey in Singapore two years previously for an Asia cruise and seriously ,you would not find greater ambassadors for the brand than us! We told all our friends how wonderful it was ,and encouraged so many people to ...

Pick up at the airport was good but at the Marriott we learned that two of the seven couples on the bus did not have room keys. After the long miserable flight we were all told to wait on the bus while two more room keys were obtained. After 25 minutes waiting people that had keys gave up and wondered to their rooms. Marriott is a beautiful hotel with so-so food and poor service, except for ...
