Ship parked relatively close to the town, so we walked in. Nice old city, very relaxed, lots of shops and a big cathedral to visit. Nice long water front to stroll along as well.

free port shuttle will take you off the official port area and brought us to the gate and mini terminal. As QM2 was also present with Seaborn Quest along with Windstar and Seadream I, Cadiz was overflowing with passengers along with other regular tourists, visitors and locals. The normally narrow streets & squares were overflown and we did not enjoy this. We escaped the mass to walk the seafront where is more space and enjoyed the stunning views of the skyline (looks like Havanna in Cuba and therefore a James Bond film was shot here instead). Also a visit to the impressive cathedral was great and for € 6 an audio tour was provided. Upon return the little mini terminal had to cope with the security check of large number of passengers. Cadiz was okay but not remarkable. If we take another cruise that has Cadiz as a stopping point, we will probably stay on board that day. We enjoyed walking around and seeing lovely flowers and interesting architecture. We also stopped at a nice terrace restaurant for some tapas and a cold drink. The waiters were very friendly and made us feel very welcome there. The pedestrian areas were very well-adapted for wheelchair driving - no awful cobblestones like in Italy and Portugal. Spain gets full points from us for wheelchair accessibility! Read Less

Gorgeous weather and ideal port location. Lovely old city and nice beaches. With limited time did not want to waste time trying to reach Seville. Cadiz itself worth exploring but many attractions closed in afternoon for siesta.

Cadiz is a small city, very walkable. Pretty, clean and spacious with some lovely sights. Would like to visit again as part of another holiday but don't think it's strong enough as a destination in itself. The port is very close ... Read More

We did the free "walking tour". The guide was knowledgeable, but chatted more about some of the food than the area. We walked quite a bit and got to go in the cathedral. We wandered the town on our own later.

Very easy port to explore on your own. Beautiful town - just wonder through the streets and squares or walk around the periphery of the town by the seaside and beaches

The City Bus Tour services are excellent if you need to see a lot in a day and being able to hop on and off where you want makes it more fun. Plan before you go so you know which stops you want and stick to your plan!

took bus to Jerez de la Frontera, sherry factory, was so-so, bus left way late because of one woman who held us all up, then lots of waiting around after sherry sampling, overall quite a bit lame and not really worth the money

We did our own thing in Cadiz and found it a lovely old place just to wander around. We have travelled over much of Europe before and had , in fact , been to Cadiz during our previous wanderings. We still enjoy strolling in the streets watching the street entertainers, wandering around the Cathedral and having a coffee or tea whenever we felt like a stop. We did a bit of shopping, as you do, and then had a taxi back to the ship, a lazy way out I suppose but we were on holiday!!! Read Less
