Nice to walk but the day was very hot and you had to be aware of the horses and carriages which charge around the cobbled streets.

We got conflicting information from Royal (and on websites) about how to get to Brugge. Apparently, you used to have to take a bus from the ship to the port entrance, then take a taxi to a train, etc.....for about 50 Euro/pp. Well, that's now changed. As soon as we got off the boat, there were buses on the dock, offering a round-trip ticket to Brugge for 20 Euros/per person which was cheaper than the sold-out version that Royal was offering. Another fabulous UNESCO World Heritage Site, very much like Tallinn and simply stunning. Loved every minute! Read Less

We got off the boat early as we only had a few hours in port. We walked out of the gates and took a taxi to Brugges (50 euros) if you can get a group together this would make it a very economical way to get to the city as they take up to 6 passengers (same price). The journey is about 30-40 mins. The city of Brugges is beautiful and well worth a visit. We visited several sights and churches, took a canal boat ride and then returned to the ship, this time sharing a taxi (we had arranged to meet our taxi driver at 1.30pm to get back to the ship) Read Less
