Shared a taxi with a couple we met on Cruise Critic and spend the day on our own in this beautiful city. Did a canal tour and a bus tour - glad we did both; as there are some things that you can't see from one or the other. Another grey day, but Brugge is a very charming town. Lots of picturesque canals and buildings, and everywhere was easily walked. The ship was docked about 40 minutes away, so getting to the town center involved a combination of the ship shuttle and a local bus ride. Glad we made the effort, though. ...

We took a taxi to center of Bruges and enjoyed taking a canal cruise and walking around this charming town. We visited the Church of our Lady and saw Michelangelo's Madonna and Child. Enjoyed a lovely lunch at an outdoor restaurant across from the Belfry in town square. Highly recommend getting a waffle from Chez Albert and buying chocolates from Dumon Chocolatier. ...

Lovely experience, but do expect to walk a lot, even if you are only taking the shuttle into Bruges, buses can only drop off outside the main part of town. ...

We didn't visit Brugge on this occasion but instead went to Blankenburge instead, which was a very nice seaside town, worth a visit if you have been to Brugge and want to experience somewhere different ...

We took a shuttle bus that we booked independently to Brugge. A very charming city. Highlight of the cruise. ...
