As we know Bruges well, we decided against revisiting on this occasion. Instead, we took the local tram into Blankenberge, as far as the railway station, (from where the trains for Bruges leave every hour) . We enjoyed delicious hot chocolates in a cheery local cafe, then strolled down the busy pedestrianised Main Street which has many tempting cake and chocolate shops, selling so many varieties of wonderful hand made chocolates. No need to take an excursion. Follow the crowd from the port gates and use public transport. Brugges is a beautiful city and well worth walking round and taking a canal cruise.

Not easy to get from ship to Bruges. Luckily we shared a taxi with another family and this worked out great. Make sure you go to te Chocolate Museum and leave plenty of time. We were rushed at the end as we left it too late.
