Staggering Natural Beauty Among the Elderly

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Richard With

We chose this cruise because we wanted to travel up the coast of Norway to the Arctic Circle and experience the natural beauty of such a voyage. We knew that Hurtigruten wasn't a typical "luxury" cruise company, despite the high, price, but were willing to make that trade-off for the hiking and other "adventures" available along the way. The headline is: We are glad we did this and would do it ...

Beautiful ship but included tours were of poor quality.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Star

The Viking Star is a wonderful ship. It is very roomy for the 930 people on the ship. There are plenty of outlets that are 110v so no need for a converter. By each side of the bed are outlets and charging stations. We had a penthouse veranda and it was quite roomy. We were on the 5th level in the middle. I would say the "even" side of the rooms had better vantage points when in port. You are ...

Exceptional service. Almost perfect experience!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

We had not been to Scandinavia before. Checked out Oslo and took the train to Bergen, spent 2 nights there. All transfers were smooth. One hitch was two people not coming back on time and we had to wait a long time for them to be located. Meanwhile our time at the Viking Museum was compromised. We liked the Taste of Norwegian Farm Life Shore excursion and the Fruit Village of Lofthus ...

Beautiful New Ship, Good Sailing Experience, But Land-Bound Customer Service....

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

Really hard to describe our experience because it was a two-week cruise, and so many experiences. In summary, our sailing experience was good, on-board Guest Services was excellent, pre-sail experience was way below expected, included shore excursions were mostly on a bus driving through town, very few stops, with a guide. Extra cost excursions were better, but with up to 44 people and ...

Viking Ocean - Viking Homelands

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

For the ports of call, tours and especially the size of the ocean liner Viking Sky was a winner. Even on a sea day you sometimes wondered where all the other passengers were. Embarking and disembarking went smoothly and quickly. The stateroom had plenty of closet storage plus some drawers. The bathroom is a plus in size and with heated floors! My husband found the food amazing and thoroughly ...

We wanted to get away from Atlanta's hot weather and really liked the itinerary of the Viking Homelands cruise. We had a wonderful time and met a lot of really nice folks. What was really amazing was how organized Viking was. The food was awesome and we learned a lot about the various ports we visited. We also felt the guides hired to lead the excursions were very good. We enjoyed all of the ...

Generally a great cruise, great scenery and food, well thought out excursions

We enjoyed our past Viking river cruise, and wanted to see Iceland and Norway. Ship and cabin met our expectations for comfort and cleanliness. Service staff was friendly beyond belief. Excursions were fun and informative, and well coordinated to logistically move a lot of people in different directions around the same time. We had no idea that the scenery would be so fantastic. Because the ...

Into the Midnight Sun - Fantastic Views on a Well Thought Out Ship

We have previously taken Viking river cruises as well as ocean cruises on other lines. We had been interested in this itinerary and also wanted to try a smaller ship out. The ship overall is fantastic - at 731 ft long (holding about 930 passengers), the staterooms, public areas, and restaurants are well thought out. Our stateroom was a fairly standard size but easy to get around in - the only ...

Good Scenic Cruising - Excursions Could Have Been Better

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sea

We had been to this destination 10 years earlier and wanted to visit again. Our prior cruise was on the Crystal Symphony which had been extraordinary. From the website and the brochures we thought we would really like the Viking Ocean ships so we thought we'd try this cruise. My overall impression was that everything was good to, in some cases, very good, but nothing was remarkable or truly ...

Well organized trip and interesting expeditions along the coast of Norway

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Polarlys

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

Booking and travel preparation well organized. Polarlys is one of the smaller ships which offer better contact to other passengers and personal. Furniture and facilities on board in good condition. Arctic Superior outside cabins quite comfortable with WLAN and TV. TV channel 1 showing permanently actual position of ship on a map. Expedition team providing lot of information about crossed areas and ...
