Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

TENDERS! TENDERS! TENDERS! Our ship charged port taxes that we had to pay, even when we parked the ship 45 minute by tender to dock, (in my opinion they owe us back some port charges) I was traveling with a handicapped person and our ship, the Costa Med. does NOT know to help Handicapped people onto/or off of tenders very well. We stayed on the ship and packed because we were planning to fly home ...

Today we are off to cave tube with Charlie's cave tubing....We decide to get up and out to breakfast at 8am, the ship docked at 7am...the Crown is anchored off shore as are the other 3 ships and we are tendered in by high speed tender, approx 15 mins. Sunny skies and turquoise seas. We exited terminal tour and the boys in the superman shirts were waiting for us just outside the door....off with ...

Belize: Some rain in Belize, we also had to tender. The tender process was slow unless you had a ship excursion. We took a late tender to shop and found some good places near the dock. Tried the local beer, Belikin, which was very good. We went back to ship early to avoid long tender lines later in the day. ...

Belize is beautiful, but appears very poor. Last time (2005) we did the combination of the River Wallace boat cruise (incredible) with the Altun Ha ruins (eh). I would still recommend that tour. This time we did an independent tour through Coral Breeze Tours called Taste of Belize which was fun if not for everyone. I would not recommend it if you're looking for a lot of history (cultural or, ...

Went cave tubing with cavetubing.bz. We were able to make the first tender so we were on the bus heading to the tubing site by 9am. It was the day after Christmas so it was VERY crowded. We were divided into groups and ended up in a group of 7 with Israel as our guide. Given the large number of people Israel was in a hurry to get us to the river so we didn't get to stop to see some of the ...

semi-submersible sub in Belize followed by a private island. It was fine, good for little kids but a little long in the sub part for them, they would have preferred the beach for long, sub for shorter. Seeing the coral reef was interesting. You had to buy your lunch on the island, really forced into it given the trip was from 9:30-2 (really it was 10-2 by the time we got on the boat). There ...
