First time to this city and I was very impressed with what I saw. Great efforts and investment have been brought to bear to renew the city and make it a tourist destination. I enjoyed the Titanic Museum immensely. It is very well done.

We pre-booked tickets to the Titanic Experience, which was an excellent museum. We took the free Princess shuttle into town and walked to the museum, then enjoyed the beautiful old downtown area.

Hop-on/off bus covers all the likely spots. The Titanic exhibition is a must if you haven't already seen it. Only the Irish could make a feature of something they built and which immediately sank. The Falls and the Shankill roads are an eye-opener and quite depressing. There is really no hope for a community that can have an IRA garden of remembrance or murals celebrating the Protestant heroes, both of whom were (and mostly still are) evil, murdering criminals. Excellent independent excursion booked prior to cruise at a significantly lower price than the cruise line. And we had 5 people involved instead of a busload.

We hired a private tour from belfastofficialblackcabtours. Our guide Jim was absolutely the best. His vehicle was clean and spacious. He even had an audio system so we could clearly hear everything he said. We toured the titanic exhibit, both sides of the areas impacted by "the troubles", the beautiful countryside on our way to Bushmills, Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Ropebridge, Dunluce Castle, Games of Thrones locations, etc.. our day ended with Jim dropping our granddaughters off at the ship and then taking us downtown Belfast to some really neat pubs. The Titanic Museum is superb but deservedly gets busy; it’s a 30 minute walk along the river or a bus ride (£1.50 one way) from Donegall Square where the cruise shuttles drop off.
