Bridgetown..was the homeport for this cruise and check in was a breeze, from getting out of taxi to getting on ship was a mere 20 minutes to half hour give or take, check-in agents was knowledgeable and was well prepared for the influx of guests arrival, security was efficient and processing was swift, I was able to grab lunch and still have enough time to go shop in terminal, as it was a Sunday ...
Love Barbados! We have been here twice and had a great time both times. We visited The Boatyard which has a beautiful beach with white sand and clear blue water. We haven't seen a lot of the island other than this and the port area but would definitely come back, maybe for a longer holiday. ...
We took a $5 pp taxi to Carlisle beach: we walked to the far end, its always quiet there, away from the "Dockyard" revellers.
Then we walked into the town to enjoy the atmosphere of the locals doing their shopping, before walking back to the ship. Along the way we went into the little chocolate factory, which smells great, but not cheap.....
