We booked a tour of Acadia National Park directly with the National Park. We booked it online months before we took the cruise. It was full and the day we were in port, all the tours were booked. It was cheaper booking it directly than with the ship. You get the tour one block from the pier. I strongly recommend doing it directly if you want this tour. Bar Harbor was beautiful. We took a chance and rented a car out at the Bar Harbor airport. We booked a taxi in advance to take us out there and back. It was worth it. With a 46` low temp that morning, I took a walk closer to noon after the tenders were opened up. It was good to know they had chartered local ferries, much more comfortable and faster to load.
