Great port to go in and out of. Only wish the bridges were high enough to accommodate the larger newer ships. It's a treat sailing down the Chesapeake Bay nine hours before and after coming back in from the open sea.

Port is easy to find, enter and exit. As we chose to park at the pier, our experience may not parallel one where you are dropped off by friends/family. Upon entering, the first station inquired if we had our cruise pre-printed luggage tags on our bags. With a yes, we were directed around (note - if you do not do this, they have you pull aside to an area where they will provide you with the tag). We pulled up to a convoy of luggage racks, popped the trunk, and they put our bags on it. We were then directed to drive around to the area where, sitting on golf carts, you pay in advance for your parking. That completed, drive around the building to the designated parking area. This could not have been easier. Short walk into the building, where you check-in, get your sea pass and board! Because of the two bridges over the Chesapeake Bay, ship size is limited. If you like those jumbo ships with a multitude of restaurants and exciting activities, this is not your port. Read Less

OMG we hated Baltimore. We kept saying to each other "This town is trash!" I'm sorry if that offends anyone. Lots of one way roads which were very convoluted. Very dirty and rundown. Many improvements need to be made. Lexington Market was disgusting. Only did drive-bys of Poe's house and Grave site, and Babe Ruth's birthplace. I will say this: Fell's Point was a nice area. Crap parking situation. We ate at Thames Street Oyster House and that was fabulous. It was the only area I felt safe to walk around. I did not drive out to the parks so they may have been nice, I can't speak to that. My husband had had enough of Baltimore and wanted to retreat to our hotel in Glen Burnie. Read Less

City of Baltimore needs to work closely with Carnival regarding traffic to Cruise Port. It was a horrible experience as listed in my Embarkation Review. Redirected 5 times and forced to take a toll road only to return via the same toll road. It seemed like it was the first time ever a cruise ship had arrived late in Baltimore. The police officers were seemed confused and kept changing how the directed traffic. If they would have had a plan, one or maybe two re-directions would have been sufficient. Baltimore does have plenty of restaurants and hotels. Didn't seem like a bad city, but didn't have time to explore city. Read Less

There wasn't anything to do in Baltimore because we live there... that's where we boarded the ship.

Had to wait in line outside in the bitter cold weather. The staff was rude and it took 3 hours to check in.

Embarkation is very chaotic and unorganized. Would think they would have better organization of luggage in case it needs to be located. Line was stopped twice for some reason and took unreasonably long to board.

The cruise terminal is basic at best. I have seen terminals like this in some third world airports. Large warehouse with metal chairs. The lounge for people boarding first was just a large room with four rows of metal chairs. We did get to watch the people who had just disembarked, cleared customs, and claimed their luggage. More entertaining than the other room. Read Less
