Embarkation is very chaotic and unorganized. Would think they would have better organization of luggage in case it needs to be located. Line was stopped twice for some reason and took unreasonably long to board.

The lounge for people boarding first was just a large room with four rows of metal chairs. We did get to watch the people who had just disembarked, cleared customs, and claimed their luggage. More entertaining than the other room. Read Less

Took way too long to board the ship. We didnt purchase FTTF but there were no dedicated lines for it to get on the ship faster anyway. Glad we didnt purchase it.

I'm sensitive to surliness, and most of the port workers in Baltimore, esp. on our return, were somewhere between don't-give-a-hoot and downright grumpy. I'm a single mom who was struggling to manage three kids and a mom in a wheelchair, and I thought they could've been much nicer and more helpful, in some cases, than they were. I'm not asking anyone to go out of their way, just to be nice, friendly, welcoming, maybe give helpful answers to questions instead of incorrect ones. I live in Baltimore but between the surly workers, the ridiculously-expensive parking, and the long sea days, I think next time it might be worth the flight to Florida, to cruise from there. ship was hours late arriving due to heavy winds, (that we hit for the next 4 days) had to wait in long line for hours due to this. other than that embarkation was fine.

I can't say too much good about Baltimore I will tell you to watch the people around you when in Baltimore. There are numerous muggings in Baltimore every day around the inner harbor where most people would go. I gave this a 2 rating because of the crime in Baltimore. It is easy to get to the cruise port from where I live but I wish they had built it on the other side of the Key Bridge. We are restricted to the size of the ships that can enter the cruise port. A port around the Dundalk area would have no restrictions Coming from the south there would be a toll for a bridge or tunnel unless you wanted to go via downtown Baltimore. Got some pictures as we were departing port of Baltimore and down the bay. Read Less
