With over 200 steps, the "leisure" tour did not include this, but the guides enabled me (who was able to go into the Palace) to meet up with my wife (who with her cane was on the leisure tour) afterwards. Other parts of the walled city were visited, as well. Read Less

We were told that a visit to Mur des Canuts was a must. Reception told us how to get there by Metro, tikets etc and it was worth the time.

Avignon was really cool. The pope's palace was a great tour however the icing on the cake was the private evening concert. We took a mini train from the boat to the palace, which was fun as hell, and the concert was put on by three amazing musicians. The classical music was beautiful and the overall experience was outstanding. Read Less

Avignon, France - Sheltered by medieval walls, Avignon’s maze of narrow streets is filled with churches, museums and palaces tracing the history of this ancient, vibrant city.

Unfortunately I have to rate this as average because we missed out on seeing any of Avignon due to a conflict in scheduling. We wanted to see the very excellent Pont du Gard, which meant that we were unable to participate in the morning tour of Avignon and the Palace of the Popes. Very disappointing considering the tour was back at the boat by lunchtime and the ship remained docked in Avignon until midnight, but there were no tours available in the afternoon and although we could have gone to the Palace of the Popes ourselves it would have meant paying extra for entry, without a guide, and having to queue in the extreme heat to do so. My granddaughter did the Pont du Gard (the Roman aqueduct) tour which she enjoyed and then she did Grignan and the truffle farm visit - she even got to see the dog find a truffle. She enjoyed both of them

papal Palace is fantastic and very interesting. We did the side trip to Grignan, which is jaw-droopingly picturesque, and the truffle farm, which was interesting and fun.

Beautiful walled city. We went on the Flavors of Provence tour. It was wonderful. We toured the Halles Market, Le Gourmande Candy and sweets store, Magazine, Le luberon for olive oil tasting and finally Maison de Fougasse, a private home with rooms to rent where we learned how to make our own focaccia bread and a sweet eclair. The chef then prepared a wonderful meal for us. There were only 6 who signed up for this tour, so it was a wonderful, intimate day. Read Less

Truly a great stop. Loved the small little alleyway streets with many little discoveries. Loved the market we stopped at during the tour. would have loved to stay there longer. Also went to Pont-du-Gard. The aqueduct was amazing.
