Not the best.

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We chose this cruise because of the variety of locations that the ship was going to be visiting. We booked our holiday, but with days to go, the itinerary changed.... drastically. Almost every day the time in port was shortened by 2 hrs or more. This left us with no chance to spend any quality time in port. They cancelled our stop in mykanos altogether because of choppy waves, yet 2 other ...

Could be better organized

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Well, I believed Norweigen is a reputable cruise line, but not this time. I knew the crew did their best. They were polite. Hard working and offered free entertainment. Service Dept was always short staff. Ogot my specialty dinner back. Food was okay but housekeeping can be better as we had to pay $20. per day mandatory. Sometimes it was done before dinner time. What upset me most the ...

Virgin: less for more?

We chose Virgin Voyages because the timing coincided with the rest of our established travel plans. Even with all of the inclusive features such as internet and tipping, and a $600 bar credit for us both, for the money, the value just wasn’t there. My husband has been on 30 cruises of various companies and I’ve been on five using five different companies. This was not our favorite cruise ...

No ultra luxus, hardly even luxus

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Seabourn Encore

We were on 14 day Treasures of Adrian cruise on Seabourn Encore on July. This was our first cruise on “ultra luxus” ship. Previous cruises have been lately on MSC Yacht Club, Celebrity Retreat, Mein Shiff X-lounge or NCL Haven. Therefore, we are comparing Seabourn experience to those more than a normal main cruise line experience. Unfortunately, we found no ultra luxus on Seabourn, hardly even ...

Celebrity Infinity vs Princess

We chose this cruise due to all the Greek ports that we wanted to visit. Embarkation was ok, miss the medallion of princess. Food is not the greatest. The aqua and retreat guest get a much better menu. Menu in the main dining room is less than 2 stars. Fish includes Cajun Spiced Drum, Tilapia of which is mostly farmed and you don’t want to know what they feed farmed raised Tilapia. As I ...

Buyer beware!

Review for a Greece Cruise on Celestyal Crystal

If you have cruised on larger ships with a variety of decent food options and amenities, this ship is not for you or maybe any Celestyal cruise. I have been cruising for over 25 years and have had some bumps but this experience was subpar, a 2.5 is more accurate rather than a 3. I made this selection for the ports and as the lovely people at the Celestyal call center explained the staff and food ...

Don't book aft cabins on lower decks

Overall, the food was very good. Oceania says they have "The Finest Cuisine At Sea". What was good, was very good, however, pineapple and melons shouldn't be crunchy. Also, they served the absolutely worst bananas foster (one of my favorite desserts) I've ever had. The crew was very friendly and the shore excursions were nice. I was in an Owner's Suite on deck 6. During docking, which ...

Great Itinerary but Ship Service Lacking

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Oosterdam

This was our first Holland America experience after sailing on Royal Caribbean and Carnival. We picked this cruise because it was one of the few lines that visit Istanbul. Athens, Mykonos, Istanbul, Crete, and Olympia we’re all great ports. Things that were a disappointment on the ship: entertainment was sparse, food/drink service was not available at all times and ended at 11:30pm, and ...

My wife and I have sailed on many big-ship cruises and once on the Viking River longship. We decided to try the Viking Ocean cruise with the Included Airfare and pre- and post-cruise extensions. This review reflects our experiences onboard of the Viking Sky and other segments of our trip under the Viking care. • The best part of our journey was the 7 days on the Viking Sky. The ship itself is ...

This was our first Celebrity cruise and was chosen to accommodate other companions’ time issues and by virtue of an interesting itinerary. First some good things: Main dining dinners were all good and service there was good. Vast majority of staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our party included one six-year-old and the ship had a great “camp at sea” program run by an exceptional crew ...
