Review for a Africa Cruise on Crystal Symphony

We had sailed on the Symphony prior to the pandemic and were extremely pleased with it. We booked this cruise expecting to continue our feelings towards Crystal. The entertainment, lectures, art class, spa, butler, room attendants, dining in Osteria and uni uma all met these high expectations. Dining in the Marketplace was generally good but there were some mishaps. Our overall cruise was severely ...

We chose this cruise simply because the dates worked for us, however we will not be returning, it’s just not what we had hoped for. It’s a beautiful ship of its kind, and I guess the decor and style could be described as “attic warehouse chic”, but it was just not what we had expected - probably my fault for not researching it more - but just disappointing as we walked the long grey, grey ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Apex

This started out as a trip to Israel, Egypt, and Turkey. It was changed due to world events and only one of the original ports remaining from the initial itinerary was visited. The ship was lovely, food was good, and service was great. What I would like to do in this review is to share with you a missed opportunity on Celebrity's part to take care of their best customers: Elite members and above. ...

Cruising in a Time of War...and Covid

When I booked my cruise to sail on the Celebrity Apex, I was so impressed by the photos and videos of the Infinity Cabins, and the ship in general, that I thought that even if the ship went no where, I would still love the cruise. I would think back on that thought during the cruise and after the cruise ended and I returned home. This cruise was booked as a “10 night Israel, Egypt & Med Cruise”. ...

Review: Virgin Voyages – Resilient Lady - Greek Island Glow 10/1-10/8 I have been able to cruise on almost all the largest cruise lines over the last 25 years. I was genuinely excited when I heard Virgin was bringing together key executives from all the major cruise lines to create a new cruise concept and brand. Also, as a car guy, I learned years ago that you never buy a new model for the ...

Disappointing

I had heard so many amazing things about Virgin Cruises and was very excited to give it a go, especially when they matched my status on other cruise lines. The first thing I found out is they do not do complimentary upgrades for those with significant status so I decided to just pay for a full suite. Basically, double a regular room cost and is not worth the money. Small rooms overall but good ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Nieuw Statendam

Nieuw Statendam clearly wishes to appeal to the loving-loud-music-everywhere American. The ship will be successful in this. The ship itself is beautifully maintained. You will have to search to find a rust spot anywhere. First-class paintwork, varnish and cleaning. Faultless and much appreciated. An MSC ship moored alongside at some stage and that looked very different. All housekeeping and ...

Great itinerary-terrible tours and tour guides

My husband, brother-in-law, and I chose this cruise because of Oceania's small ship experience and its supposedly supurb cuisine. We booked side by side Conciegre Veranda suites. While the stateroom steward was wonderful, the room was not. The room was cramped and the bathroom was miniscule. My husband and I have taken over 30 cruises and this was by far the worst. We took a cruise ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Celebrity Constellation

User Avatar

The Constellation would be great for first time cruisers but repeat guests will notice the changes, cutbacks, price hikes and doubling of the cost of cruises. All effort now appears to be directed to the new Edge class ships which are fabulous but the rest of the fleet are being left behind. We cruised on the Constellation in January and again in September/ October 2023 but have cancelled ...

Great ports, not so great ship experience

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Onward

User Avatar

While we enjoyed most ports and enjoyed our vacation, we were overall disappointed with how Azamara has changed. The biggest disappointment was with the quality of the food in the main restaurant (Discoveries). We've taken many cruises (and 3 others with Azamara) and can easily say this was the worst food we've experienced on any of them. While we enjoyed the quality of the linens in the ...
