Loved being in Athens, especially in the Plaka area. We stayed in an Airbnb in Piraeus, I don't recommend it unless you do some major research or know the area. Where we stayed, we had 1 restaurant within walking distance, which was fabulous. Eugene at Πεντόβολα Ουζερί - Μεζεδοπωλείο prepared some of the best food we had the whole trip! Athens is a busy city full of historic sites like the Acropolis that are mandatory to visit, with great shopping and dining areas. Tourists will be non-stop busy, and should definitely spend a few days here, as we did, rather than hours.
