Did not lake Anchorage. The Captain Cook, while a good hotel is very dark and seems like something out of the 70's. The rooms are very nicely updated, but the overall atmosphere is very dated. Staff were friendly, helpful, and service for the most part not bad considering how many cruisers were coming and going. Always crowded with cruisers--we stayed 2 nights due to flight schedules. People were ...

The Royal Caribbean train is the best. With the glass top you can see very good out. Sit on the left side of train to see all the water ways as you go down Make sure you don't eat a lot before you get on the train, the food is so good. Listen to your tour guide they know what to order. The prim rib is great. If you want to get served first sit at back of car. They take those people first ...

We did Anchorage on our own 2 days. We rented a car and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. We loved the Hilton! We caught the city tour at the visitor center, and enjoyed our trolly ride around the city. We had lunch at Humpy's and dinner at Glacier Brewhouse. (Make reservations at Glacier Brewhouse to avoid a long wait.) We drove up to Wasilla-a beautiful area. Anchorage is easy to get around with ...
